SELLING
Listing Your Sacramento or Placer County Home for Sale -
A Privilege and a Promise
There are a few basic guidelines that
enhance and expedite the sale of
homes in the greater Placer County
and Sacramento real estate markets.
Fundamental to each successful real
estate transaction is the trusted
relationship between the seller and
the Placer County or Sacramento real
estate agent. Any individual who has
bought or sold a home is likely aware
of the very important role that a local
Realtor plays, from the initiation of a
home sale to the closing and beyond.
A Sacramento and Placer County Realtor has a thorough understanding of each
step in the process of selling a home. A Realtor is up to date with current real
estate law and the details of complex paperwork that accompanies a real estate
transaction. According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), a qualified
real estate agent is capable of helping home sellers get a better price for their
property. For example, a For Sale by Owner home listed at $187,000 netted
$247,000 with the help of a Realtor in typical cases. In addition, NAR research
shows that a large majority (86%) of home sellers were so satisfied with their
results that they say they would use the same real estate agent again.

Put on a Pretty Face
In any market there are strategies that make a home more attractive to buyers.
In my experience as a Sacramento Realtor, it doesn’t matter where prices fall on
the spectrum - properties for sale that are best prepared for showing will be the
first to receive offers from buyers.

As a Sacramento and Placer County Realtor who is dedicated to the satisfaction
of my clients, it’s my job to advise sellers about the best ways to present a
home for sale. Sometimes, that advice is a little hard to hear. For example, I tell
home sellers to pack away most of their treasured personal items. The photos,
memorabilia, decorations and items that reflect individual taste and style are best
removed from shelves, tables and walls. Why? Because a seller needs to allow
potential home buyers the opportunity to visualize themselves in the home, amid
their own personal treasures. I also remind my sellers that the goal is to sell their
home as expeditiously as possible and those special items will soon be packed
away when it’s time to move!
It’s also important to enhance the curb appeal of a
home for sale. The first impression of a home comes
when buyers slowly drive past and peer carefully at
the Placer County or Sacramento home for sale - the
yard, landscaping and care that’s been given to the
exterior of the home. Sometimes, home sellers make
a small investment in a few plants that dress up the
yard and provide a welcoming environment – one
that encourages drive-by buyers to view the inside of
the home as well.
My Commitment to Sellers
I take my responsibility to sellers seriously. I keep home sellers informed of
progress and make myself available to answer questions and respond to any
concerns. As a Placer County and Sacramento Realtor working with the Lyon Real
Estate team, I have many resources upon which to draw in support of my home
sellers. I am also proud to be a strong advocate for my clients. I do not shy away
from tough negotiations when it comes to my real estate client’s interests.

If you plan to sell your home in Placer County or the Sacramento region I invite
you to call me so that we can talk personally. I recognize that choosing the right
Sacramento real estate agent is an important decision and that, as a home seller,
you deserve straight answers and truly professional representation.
